Success for 24 Community Buildings across Somerset

CCS LogoCommunity Council for Somerset (CCS) proudly awarded 24 Community Buildings the Hallmark quality standard at the annual Training and Networking event held on the 15th October at Edington Village Hall. CCS supports Community Buildings and, since 2002, Hallmark has promoted the delivery of effective and well-managed community buildings. The standard recognises their achievement in managing their hall to a nationally recognised standard endorsed by Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) and acknowledged by the Charity Commission. Shaftesbury Glamping Farm wins accolade at Dorset Tourism Awards

CaalmCampYurtsA family-run luxury glamping experience near Shaftesbury has picked up a Bronze Award at the third annual Dorset Tourism Awards. Owners Mark and Caryl Ralph, who opened the campsite at their former dairy farm at Stour Row just three years ago, received the award in the Self Catering category at the Tank Museum on Thursday. Six traditional Mongolian hand-painted yurts form the centerpiece of the all-weather campsite. Ninesprings Café celebrates its first birthday!

cafe 1st birthday_0001This October half term will see South Somerset District Council’s popular Ninesprings Café celebrate its first year trading down at Yeovil Country Park. The Café has become a great asset to the country park, offering a welcome stop for walkers, families and a variety of groups that enjoy the great green space and all it offers. Café Manager – Sam Lane and her team have worked hard to establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a range of quality products and plenty of activities for children so that all members of the family can enjoy a stop during the day.
