Newly modernised Post Office with extended opening hours at Mere

Post OfficeUnusually Mere Post Offices premises which includes a Newsagents will stay open during the closure of the Post Office Counter conversion to a Main model. During the closure stamps will still be available at the retail counter for basic uses, such a letters to Europe and those wishing to use stamps to send a small parcel etc.

Mere Post Office is converting to a Main Post Office model. Zeals and Bourton Post Offices are the alternative Post offices for the period of conversion.

A newly modernised Post Office will open in Boar Street, Mere on Thursday 5th March with extended opening hours, an extra Post Office till for convenient bill payment, banking, benefits, travel money Euro’s and US dollars, postage, home shopping returns and Local Collect and more.

There will be a Post Office serving point at the retail counter, offering selected services, which will be available during shop opening hours Monday – Saturday: 8am – 5.30pm; Sunday: 8am – 1pm. This means that the branch will open on Sunday mornings and Saturday afternoons and it will open earlier every day.

The branch needs to close for refurbishment on Tuesday 24th February at 12 noon, and will reopen as a Main Post Office on the 5th March, 2015 at 1PM. Alternative branch to use during the closure will be Zeals Post Office, Chapel Lane, Zeals and Bourton Post Office at Forge Garage for the above closure period.

An extended range of products will be available in the retail area on the opening day or as soon as possible afterwards, Milk from a local farm, takeaway hot drinks, passport photographs plus a photocopy service.
