Some unusually good pieces of collectable  ‘Mouseman’ furniture are to be sold by Lawrences Auctioneers of Crewkerne.

The celebrated workshop, started by Robert Thompson in Kilburn, Yorkshire, has produced hand crafted furniture from the 1920’s until the present day. They are best known for the distinctive carved ‘Mouse’ signature that is found on every piece.

Lawrences July Fine Art Sale will include several pieces of Mouseman furniture, including two early Mouseman wardrobes and an adjustable reading chair, and some more modern peices including two bookcases, a library chair and stools.

Lawrences Auctioneer Simon Jones said, “Mouseman furniture is always very popular with private buyers, as the items are beautifuly made and fit into most interiors. Prices remain very strong and we expect these items to attract a lot of interest.”

Estimates range from £200-£2000, and they will be sold on Thursday 14th July. For further enquiries about entering items into this sale or details of the furniture included, please contact Simon Jones on 01460 73041.
