Mendip polling station changes for county council elections

Mendip District CouncilMendip residents voting in the Somerset County Council elections in May are being advised to make sure they know which polling station they need to use.

Following a change in the electoral areas for the county council elections, local people may need to visit a different polling station to the one they are used to.

Polling cards will shortly be sent out to all electors eligible to vote in the elections on 2nd May and people are being asked to check their poll card carefully to see exactly which polling station they should use.

Stuart Brown, Mendip District Council Chief Executive and Deputy Returning Officer for the Mendip area, said: “There have been a number of changes to polling stations in Mendip for this year’s county council elections, so I would ask voters to carefully check their polling cards to make sure they know which polling station they need to visit.

“If you think you might have a problem travelling to your polling station, it’s not too late to vote by post.”

Local people need to make sure they have registered to vote by 17th April to ensure they can have their say at the ballot box.
