The Lord Chamberlain’s Men bring ‘The Comedy of Errors’ to The Bishop’s Palace Sunday 30th July

Next weekend, combine a love of theatre with a love of the outdoors and a truly authentic Shakespeare performance.

The Palace is delighted to be welcoming back firm favourites The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, whose production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ was a sell out last year.

On Sunday 30th July, they’ll be bringing Shakespeare’s most hilarious farce ‘A Comedy of Errors’ to the South Lawn – a riotous rollercoaster of a comedy that will keep you guessing and laughing until its joyous conclusion.

The company perform in traditional Shakespearian style, with an all-male cast.

This fantastical comedy follows two pairs of identical twins, Antipholus of Syracuse and Antipholus of Ephesus, and their servants, both named Dromio. When they were babies, the twins and their parents were separated in a shipwreck; now, years later, as one half of the twins search for the other they unwittingly find themselves in the same city on the same day.

The performance will take place in the open air and will continue regardless of the weather. Audiences are invited to bring rugs or low-backed seating and may bring picnics. The Palace BBQ and Bar will also be available. Doors open at 6pm.
