Residents living in Yeovil are being encouraged to sign up to Community £s, the innovative weight loss project where losing weight directly benefits the community. South Somerset volunteers set to lead the way with new health walks
Following a free training event organised by South Somerset District Council, newly trained volunteers will be able to lead walks in Wincanton, Ilminster, Yeovil, Langport, Martock and Ash. The popular Health Walk leader training day was fully booked and volunteers received information on everything they needed to know to lead a successful walk – including details on risk assessments, route planning, first aid and the benefits of exercise. Training helps to keep older people flexible
South Somerset District Council’s Healthy Lifestyles Team helped to keep older and frail people on the move with a fun packed Flexercise session at the Octagon Theatre on Thursday 26 February.
