WE MAKE BOOKS! are taking up residence in a beautiful, eco renovated warehouse in lovely Frome, Somerset, for a fantastic 2 days bookbinding workshop!
On DAY 1 we will be making three different book structures: a concertina book, a 4-hole stab binding and a single section case binding and on DAY 2 a multi-section case binding.
There will be an introduction to the tools and materials that we will be using on the day as well as the importance of grain direction. You will be learning about basic bookbinding techniques such as folding, end papers, sewing, covering and casing-in.
At the end of the workshop you will leave with your beautiful handmade books along with a handout of instructions to work on your own projects at home. All materials will be provided and no previous bookbinding experience is required.
The workshop will be delivered by Lina Avramidou and Manuel Mazzotti both professional book artists and designer bookbinders.
Fee: £65 for one day or £110 for both days (includes materials and refreshments)
