Mendip District Council is asking local landowners to help the authority update its information on sites across the district that could potentially be suitable for housing, commercial and community use. This ‘call for sites’ is a statutory responsibility and the information gathered will be used to update the Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) which in turn will influence the council’s work on its site allocations development plan for the Local Plan Part Two. Safe Places scheme helping everyone to feel safe in South Somerset and Mendip
The Safe Places scheme was launched across Avon and Somerset back in February, to help people feel safe and supported when they’re out and about in the community. Safe Places is just that. Public locations such as shops, cafes or libraries that are signed up to the scheme to provide a recognisable safe place for people to seek advice, reassurance and help. Full story: Read more
