Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Oratorio performance of Omega and Alpha at Haynes Motor Museum on Saturday 27 September. The Castle Cary choir and friends will perform this oratorio with professionals from The Guildhall school of Music. The music and words have been composed by Martin Emslie and he will conduct the orchestra and choir on the night. They cost £20 each and all attendees will have the chance to view cars in the Red Room at the museum before or after the performance.
Latest round of community energy saving scheme gets under way
The latest round of an innovative new scheme which aims to tackle fuel poverty by saving local people money on their energy bills is about to begin. Collective Energy Switching – which is backed by Mendip District Council – is when consumers get together to negotiate a group deal with gas and electricity suppliers, with a third party actively negotiating a better tariff on behalf of the group through an auction process.
