A Government Inspector has given a clean bill of health to Mendip District Council’s Local Plan and formally pronounced it as ‘sound’. The Local Plan is an important planning document which will guide the location of future housing, commercial and other types of development in the district up to 2029. South Somerset District Council helps school children commemorate the First World War
South Somerset District Council has helped commemorate the First World War by issuing 21,000 booklets to all the school children in south Somerset. The booklet was paid for by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and was produced by the Community Heritage Access Centre with help from the Imperial War Museum’s 1914 Centenary Partnership.
