Ferne Animal SancturySpending a day recently at Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Wambrook, near Chard mucking out the goats wasn’t as easy as the team from Estadia in Taunton thought. Having chosen Ferne Animal Sanctuary as their Charity of the Year, Estadia decided one way to help was to combine volunteering with a team-building day. Old Sarum archaeologists reveal plan of medieval city

Old SarumA detailed plan of a medieval city has been produced by experts without any digging at the site. The latest scanning techniques were used to uncover a network of buildings at the 11th Century Old Sarum near Salisbury in Wiltshire. The results include a series of large structures, possibly defences, with open areas of ground behind possibly for mustering resources or people. South Somerset District Council welcomes transport announcement on A303/A358

SSDCSouth Somerset District Council welcomed today’s announcement as part of the government’s Autumn Statement that the A303/A358 would be dualled throughout its length and an early start would be made on sections within the South Somerset area.
