There was another good turn out this week at the Yeovil Montacute parkrun, where there were 164 runners (it did look like more!), of whom 20 were first timers and 24 recorded new Personal Bests. Before starting there was a presentation to Scarlett Sayfritz for getting the Sweatshop parkrunner of the month award for January – her new pair of shoes didn’t quite carry her to a new PB this week! Newly modernised Post Office with extended opening hours at Mere
Unusually Mere Post Offices premises which includes a Newsagents will stay open during the closure of the Post Office Counter conversion to a Main model. During the closure stamps will still be available at the retail counter for basic uses, such a letters to Europe and those wishing to use stamps to send a small parcel etc. Mere Post Office is converting to a Main Post Office model. Zeals and Bourton Post Offices are the alternative Post offices for the period of conversion. Full story: Read more
Cheltenham Gold Cup race day at Horton Village Hall on Friday March 13th
The Rotary Club of Ilminster will once again be hosting a Cheltenham Gold Cup race day at Horton Village Hall on Friday March 13th. Entrance is from midday and guests are invited to bring along their own food and drink. Tickets for entry are just £5 per person, and in addition to having the opportunity to back a winner there will be a raffle, the proceeds of which will go to – Heartworks ‘Transthoracic Echocardiography Simulator’
