Help Gryphon Leisure Centre raise money for Sport Relief 2014

Sport Relief 2014.pngResidents are being asked to dig out their running kits to help raise money for Sport Relief at Gryphon Leisure Centre in Sherborne.

The leisure centre team helped raise over £2,000 for Sport Relief last year and they would like as many people as possible to run a Sport Relief Mile to beat last year’s target.

Gryphon Leisure Centre, which is run by the district council, will be hosting the event on Sunday 23 March at the centre at 11.30am. People wanting to take part can choose from a one, three or six mile course.

West Dorset District Council Leader Cllr Robert Gould said: “This is the second time the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile has come to Gryphon Leisure Centre. It is a great cause and I would encourage as many people as possible to come along and raise money for Sport Relief.”

On Friday 21 March the BBC will treat the nation to a super special night of Sport Relief TV with presenters including Gary Lineker, Gaby Logan, Claudia Winkleman, Jack Whitehall, Clare Balding amongst others, hosting a star-studded show full of celebrity performances, comedy sketches, highlights from this year’s challenges and films about the incredible work Sport Relief supports.
