The Greatest Showman at The Bishop’s Palace 27th April 2018

This April, The Bishop’s Palace in Wells will once again be hosting a night of open air cinema, as part of Wells’ Festival of Film.

On Friday 27th April, from 7pm, a very special Sing-Along screening of the surprise musical hit sensation of 2018, The Greatest Showman, will take place on the Croquet Lawn.

What more spectacular location could there be than to enjoy this epic tale based on the life of P.T Barnum against a backdrop of the Medieval Great Hall, under the stars?

The musical film, whose soundtrack is currently UK no 1 and which has also topped the charts in the USA, is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. The soundtrack has already won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song and has been nominated for an Oscar. The film has been hugely well received and is noted in particular for giving cinema-goers an hour and a half of “pure enjoyment and escapism”. So if you need cheering up this Spring, book your tickets for an uplifting evening in a fabulous location.

The Drawbridge will open at 7:30pm with the film starting at 9pm. Tickets will include a BBQ meal and the bar will be open all evening. Ticket holders will be able to soak up the pre-screening atmosphere at the Palace and there will be pre-show entertainment from Wookey Hole Circus. Just before the screening begins, there will be a fancy dress competition, so get those Show costumes planned!

Cinema goers should bring their own low-backed seating or blanket and an umbrella as the show will go on whatever the weather. Tickets £20 to include BBQ, available from Wells Film Centre www.wellsfilmcentre.co.uk
