Staff at South Somerset Mind are looking forward to their second big fundraising event of the year this weekend in Castle Cary. Alexander Priest, Chief Executive, said: “The Castle Cary Santa Dash is a family friendly festive fun run for everyone to get involved – whether you’re a runner, non- runner, walker or jogger.” With the support of 1610 Caryford Fitness & Leisure Centre, the Santa Dash that is on Sunday 4th December, beginning at the 1610 Caryford Fitness & Leisure Centre. Participants can enjoy a 2k route that will take them through Castle Cary Town Centre, creating a sea of Santas for passers-by to enjoy.
Zoe White, Community Fundraiser for South Somerset Mind has said: “We are really looking forward to spreading some festive spirit in Castle Cary with our Santa Dash. Whilst we all enjoy Christmas, it can be a particularly difficult time for many of our service users, so being able to promote our services & raise some funds is vital during this time of year”.
Once participants have completed the run, they will receive a Festive Goodie Bag along with a free Mince Pie which has been kindly donated by Morrisons in Wincanton. Online registration is essential to secure your space in the run. You have the option to reserve yourself a Santa Suit or come in your own fancy dress. Discounted rates are available for families and under 5’s are FREE.
