Donations Help Provide New Film Screen

Customers of the Co-op in South Petherton have raised £1,376.52 towards a new screen for Petherton Picture Show (PPS).

Petherton Picture Show screens two films a month at The David Hall performing arts centre in South Petherton, which is a two-minute walk from the Co-op.

Mr Keating – who is also vice-chairman of Petherton Arts Trust, which owns and runs The David Hall – explained that a new screen will cost about £2,000.  Further donations have been made by patrons of Petherton Picture Show so the existing damaged screen will be replaced in the very near future.

“On behalf of the PPS committee, I would like to thank everyone involved for their generosity,” said Mr Keating. “We know that Petherton Picture Show is a key element of The David Hall’s programme and now we can plan ahead without worrying about further damage to the existing screen.”

Details of future PPS films can be found at www.pethertonpictureshow.com and in The David Hall’s printed programme.
