Two Mendip District Council councillors have stepped down leaving vacancies in these Mendip wards.
Councillors Wayne Closier and Sue Cook have both decided to resign as district councillors.
Wayne Closier, who was a Conservative councillor for the Ashwick, Chilcompton and Stratton ward, decided to leave his position at the start of March, while Shepton West Liberal Democrat councillor Sue Cook stepped down last week. The two resignations are unrelated.
By-elections are likely to be called shortlyand are likely be held at the same time as the county council elections on Thursday 2nd May.
To vote in elections taking place on Thursday 2nd May you have to register by April 17th.
