SUMMER BABY BOOM AT SAFARI PARK

Longleat Safari Park is enjoying a summer baby boom with no fewer than 20 monkeys, three rare Chinese deer, marmoset twins and two reindeer calves all making their first public appearances in recent weeks. TV CHEFS TO HOST LIVE COOKERY MASTERCLASSES AT LONGLEAT

TV Chefs Nadiya Hussain and James Martin will be hosting a series of live cooking masterclasses at Longleat as part of its first ever Food and Drink Festival (June 10th-11th). On Saturday, Nadiya, the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2015, will be demonstrating her baking skills in three live shows taking place in the Longhouse, Longleat’s new events area, while on Sunday, James will be sharing some of his favourite recipes. FLORAL BOUQUET SIGNALS SPRING IN THE AIR FOR EUROPE’S OLDEST GORILLA

Longleat’s oldest resident, Nico the gorilla, received a bouquet of daffodils from keepers to signal spring is finally on its way. As well as being the oldest gorilla in Europe, Nico, who is believed to be at least 55, is also thought to be the second oldest male gorilla in the world. Full story: Read more
