Milestone membership for Frome Writers’ Collective 

AFTER ONLY THREE YEARS, Frome Writers’ Collective is celebrating its 100th member, widely acclaimed blues artist and lyricist Eddie Martin. Eddie, who lives in Frome with his wife, artist Nicky Knowles who has also joined the Collective, has spent 25 years touring the world and has kept detailed journals of his visits to the 30 countries he has played in either as a solo artist or as band leader. Get Creative at Black Swan for BBC’s Nationwide Event

Black Swan Arts in Frome will be taking part in BBC’s nationwide Get Creative event on Saturday 8 April, from 2-4pm, alongside ‘The Future Can’t Wait’, an exciting show of exhibits from 30 MA postgraduate students across four disciplines – ceramics, fashion and textiles, fine art and visual communication. Gold and Best Artisan Garden Awards at Chelsea Flower Show for Somerset Artists


Just back from a stint at Chelsea Flower Show celebrating the success of the Viking Cruises Mekong Garden’s gold and best artisan awards, Somerset-based artists Fiona Campbell and Nick Weaver were overawed by the massive interest in their focal pieces for the garden, which certainly had the wow factor.
