Blackmore Vale Lions Ceilidh a Huge Success
Lion Ray Cable is presenting a cheque for £250 to Hillary Mead of CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) a charity that supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by young sudden cardiac death. The money was raised at a Valentines Day Ceilidh organised by the Blackmore Vale Lions and the event raised over £1,000 which was a huge success. Full story: Read more
Local Soroptimists support Sherborne’s Zest Café
The Yeovil, Sherborne & Districts club of Soroptimist International has chosen the Zest Café in Sherborne to be one of the charities they will support during 2015. The Zest Café, which helps people recovering from mental health problems, announced in September that it needs to raise £25,000 in order to retain the lease on its premises in Abbey Road. Local Soroptimists have already donated £200 and plan to give more by the café’s fundraising deadline of December this year. Full story: Read more
