Sherborne means business with launch of new website

Sherborne Chamber of Trade and Commerce has launched a new website www.sherbornechamber.co.uk – built by a member for members. The banner heading for the new website is a photograph of some of the Chamber’s 140 members, a few holding the tools of their trade, taken in front of Sherborne Abbey.

The image, which captures the diversity of businesses within the town, was taken by local photographer Millie Pilkington who generously gave her services to support the Chamber’s new venture.

The new website reflects the mission of the Sherborne Chamber of Trade and Commerce to provide its members with an online forum in which to do business and highlight their successes. It also offers the means to communicate essential information affecting the local economy and wider issues of concern.

Easy to navigate, the new site will enable members to promote products and services and share news and stories. Chairman of the Sherborne Chamber, Sally-Ann Kodurand said:

“The website is modern, relevant and tells visitors to the site who we are, what we do and what’s on offer. Each page has detailed information on local business activities and matters of interest or concern, with helpful links to other relevant agencies. We are very keen to encourage greater dialogue between members and to reach out to potential new members”.

The site was built by Chamber member Nancy Weitz of Architela, an e-learning consultancy, together with a working group of other members. It is hoped the site will enhance the quality and availability of relevant trade and commerce information and contacts to businesses in Sherborne and the surrounding areas.
