Somerset Guild Of CraftsmenOpen View this Friday evening 12 April 6-8pm for next exhibition ‘Whither The Ash’ at Somerset Guild of Craftsmen. Free entry.  A celebration of the life of trees with emphasis on the Ash.  Also features the 2nd Annual Furniture Exhibition, run in conjunction with Bridgwater College Fine Furniture course. Main exhibition starts on 15 April, ends 1 June, opening times Mon – Sat 10am-5pm. Students from Bridgwater College have been selected to take part in this open exhibition and the public are invited to vote for their favourite piece during their visit. South Somerset workforces lose more than 40 stone to become leaner and healthier

Employees from South Somerset District Council, Screwfix aYarlington Weightloss challenge Winning Teamnd Yarlington Housing Group shed more than 560lbs in weight for the most successful Workplace Weightloss Challenge to date. The Challenge, which is run by the Healthy Lifestyles team at South Somerset District Council, encourages employees to join teams of three to five people and sign up to lose weight sensibly over a 6 week period. NEW EXHIBITS AT CASTLE CARY AND DISTRICT AND PRESERVATION SOCIETY

Castle Cary MuseumOur Museum is now open for the new season.  Our Visitors will be treated to wonderful displays.

New exhibits include: 1963 Toys, 1953 Queen Elizabeth 11 Coronation, New aquisitions. Other exhibitions: Douglas Macmillan, Parson James Woodforde, John Boyd Textiles.

Various other interesting items of bygone eras relating to agricultural, home and local industries.
