Comedy hits South Somerset with Hamdon Ha! Ha!

Tom GloverSSDC has provided £500 grant-aid to help bring on a new comedy festival for the Ham Hill area. Hamdon Ha! Ha! is taking place in Norton-sub-Hamdon which has already hosted a series of successful stand-up comedy sessions over the past year. The concept of a comedy festival extending over several days is an innovation for South Somerset that builds on the popularity of the one-off events held so far. Yeovil in Bloom strikes Gold at South West in Bloom competition!

Along with being presented Gold in the overall competition, Milford allotments and St Marks Church allotments also won Gold in the Best Allotments Awards. Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Oratorio: Haynes Motor Museum, Saturday 27 September

Macmillan Cancer SupportMacmillan Cancer Support Charity Oratorio performance of Omega and Alpha at Haynes Motor Museum on Saturday 27 September. The Castle Cary choir and friends will perform this oratorio with professionals from The Guildhall school of Music. The music and words have been composed by Martin Emslie and he will conduct the orchestra and choir on the night. Tickets are still available at bailey Hill Bookshop Castle Cary, Winstones Books in Sherborne or by calling 01963 359613. They cost £20 each and all attendees will have the chance to view cars in the Red Room at the museum before or after the performance.
