Somerset Animal Charity Appeal Nears £500,000 Goal

Ferne Animal Sanctury Charity AppealFerne Animal Sanctuary has nearly reached their goal to raise £500,000 towards the “New Digs for Dogs” £1m project for 2014/15 kicked off in March this year, to build a new enhanced kennel block, improved grooming and veterinary care room, information hub, social unit, offices, reception and purpose built rehoming centre at their site at Wambrook, near Chard in Somerset. An incredible £457,311.97 has been raised so far, with the final push now underway. Somerset Rivers Authority creation welcomed by South Somerset District Council Leader

signing2The creation of a Somerset Rivers Authority has been welcomed by South Somerset District Council’s Leader, Councillor Ric Pallister, after Environment Secretary Elizabeth Truss announced that the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) will provide £1.9 million in interim funding to enable the Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) to be created in January 2015.
