NNorton festivalorton-sub-Hamdon is proud to announce that it is hosting a village festival during harvest, 9th-11th October. There will be plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, including a village scarecrow trail, an in the Reading Room, a re-enactment of an historic horse ride, family film night, a concert by the Parnham Voices, floral displays and exhibits with refreshments, promenade performances in the village church and a village feast. Youngsters to show adults the WAY with BIG Ideas Challenge!

On Wednesday, teachers and youth leaders met to cut the cake to celebrate the launch of the BIG Ideas Challenge. BIG Ideas Challenge is a ready-made programme that will help young people to link every day activities such as saving energy and water, or fixing their clothes, to: the science of cutting emissions, the history and geography of access to resources, and the politics of social justice and climate change. Full story: Read more

Interbreed pairs and heifer championships showcase the best of future

Bath & West Dairy ShowWinning the supreme championship at the Dairy Show is the pinnacle of competition – but the pairs and heifer championships are all about future profitability. Often edged out of the spotlight by the supreme championship, the interbreed pairs and heifer champions give a much better insight into the overall quality of the herd, says judge James Warren.
