The Steering Group set up by Yeovil Town Council to promote Yeovil in Bloom is reviewing the sponsorship deals on a number of roundabouts in the Yeovil area. A number of local businesses fund the planting out and the maintenance of these key gateways to the Town whilst, at the same time, promoting their businesses by way of an advertising board on the roundabout. Applications Open for the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ Southern Engineering Excellence Awards 2016
As part of its commitment to improving the world through engineering, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers today announces that applications are now open for the Southern Engineering Excellence Awards 2016. Companies and individuals from across Somerset and Bath are invited to enter. Chilthorne Domer recreational centre set for makeover
A £10,000 grant to help with improvements to Chilthorne Domer’s popular recreation field and pavilion has been approved by South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Area North Committee. The developments are the latest stage in a multi-phased programme of work to update the facilities. Earlier work focused on energy efficiency measures to reduce the running costs of the pavilion and maintain affordable hire charges. Full story: Read more
