NEW COUNTRY FAIR ATTRACTIONS AND DOG SHOW COMPETITIONS AT 2017 CATTISTOCK COUNTRYSIDE SHOW

The Cattistock Countryside Show Committee have announced that they will be holding the 55th Cattistock Countryside Show on Sunday 6th August, 9am to 5pm.

There are lots of new elements to the show again this year, which are hoped to appeal to the local community including vintage tractors, classic cars,  skittles, traditional fete and bar games, tug of war, plant stalls, wellie wangin’,  local arts & crafts, clothing trade stands and a live band.  The show has also aimed to expand to include a number of agricultural activities including a deer management stand, sheep shearing, sawmill and farrier demonstrations.

It will for the first time this year hold a number of new classes for the dog show, including the Countryside Companion and Dog Agility competitions. In addition, the dog show this year will also include a Buckham Fair Championship Qualifier and Best Rescue and Rehomed Classes, with monies raised being donated to Dorset Air Ambulance.

The show will be held again this year on the new site allocated last year and situated in a beautiful valley on the edge of Chilfrome (DT2 0HA), close to the village of Cattistock.

“We extremely excited about the show this year and are very hopeful that it will be our best show yet. We have more trade stands booked and more sponsors than ever before, for which we are extremely grateful. The show is always full of rural character, not too big to get lost at, but we have stacks of fun for all to enjoy. We hope that many people will come out to support us again this year and help celebrate what this part of rural Dorset has to offer” said Alison Wright, Cattistock Countryside Show Event Organiser.

The show will include a number of additional features and activities including a horse show, dog show, flower and produce show, show jumping, gate jumping, archery, hound parades, fly casting, laser clay shooting, locally produced food and drinks, chicken sale, children’s entertainment, donkey rides, alpacas, a pet’s corner and much more. The focus of the show this year has been to ensure that there really is something for all the family to enjoy!

The Cattistock Countryside Show is supported by several local Dorset companies without whom the show just wouldn’t happen. The show committee are extremely grateful to the generosity and continued support of the following sponsors; Saffery & Champness Chartered Accountants, Kitson & Trotman Solicitors, Symonds & Sampson,  NFU Mutual, Boden, Battens, Isuzu, Countrywide Stores, Ridemore Equestrian, Groves Nursery and Garden Centre,  Dorwest, Lily’s Kitchen, K9 Dog Training, Sportarm, Skinner’s.
