Live music in Yeovil Town Centre to kick off Half Marathon weekend

Make a weekend of it in Yeovil Town Centre from Saturday 24 March with a live music event followed by Yeovil Half Marathon the next day.

Live music in the centre of Yeovil has been arranged by South Somerset District Council in conjunction with Antix Music Network.

Live music will be being played between 11:00am – 8:00pm inside and out at various venues across Yeovil Town Centre including the Bandstand (Middle Street), the Mermaid Hotel (High Street), Cow & Apple (St John’s Churchyard), Orchard Food (High Street), Costa Coffee (Middle Street) and Chicago Rock (Stars Lane).

A wide range of musicians, bands, DJs and solo artists will be performing, including William Cann, Julie Dunn, Jamie Witt, David Woan, Charlie Tucker, Lyde Read, Laz Clements, Jack Athony, Nathan Speechley, Larry Turner, Grace Fahy, Ashley Jones and Connor Watling.

Councillor Peter Gubbins, Chairman of South Somerset District Council’s Area South Committee said, “Working with Antix Music Network, South Somerset District Council has put together a fantastic day of live music in the town centre which will really kick off the Yeovil Half Marathon weekend. We are excited to welcome so many local talented musicians to showcase their music and also look forward to seeing so many people cheering on those who are running the race on the Sunday”.

Antix Music Network offers undiscovered bands, solo artists and DJ’s opportunities to perform in an ever growing local music scene.

The following day (Sunday 25 March), Yeovil Half Marathon starts from 9.00am in the town centre. Competitors will run the 13.1 mile route around Yeovil and surrounding villages, finishing in the Quedam Shopping Centre. Yeovil Half Marathon is organised by Immortal Sport and this is the eighth year the race is being held in Yeovil.
