Continued support for the Arts in South Somerset
At a time when funding for the arts is a low priority for many authorities, South Somerset District Council has bucked the trend and agreed to continue funding four Somerset based arts organisations for the coming year. Actiontrack, Somerset Art Works, Somerset Film and Take Art provide a variety of activities across the district, including programmes of dance, performance, visual arts and new media with different sectors of the community and for all age ranges. Kingsdon Community Right to Bid
Two projects in South Somerset are the first to be placed on South Somerset District Council’s new Register of Assets of Community Value. Kingsdon Primary School and Kingsdon Primary School Playing Field have been nominated by Kingsdon Parish Council who are looking to protect the assets which they believe are of value to the community and should be retained for community use.
