Older people and their friends and family are encouraged to come along to meet local services and voluntary and community groups, and find out about more about the wide range of support that’s available in the community. There will practical advice and information on a variety of topics, from healthy eating and exercise, to getting online and managing finances.

Jenny Hartnoll, Health Connections Mendip Service Lead said: “We would encourage everyone to come along to this event, whether old or young. The more we all know what support is out there, the more we can all support each other as a community. There will be lots of information stalls to visit, and you’ll also be able to find out how to get involved, for example, by becoming a Community Connector. Come along, get information, have some free food, make connections, or get involved!”

This event is also open to community groups and organisations who would like to come and meet other service providers in the area.

The Older People’s Information Event is being held on Monday 16th April, from 10:30am to 2:30pm at the Cheese & Grain in Frome. Free refreshments will be provided. This is an open event and booking is not required. Just come along – all welcome!
