Anthony Head sings for local Mind charities

Get ready for a special night at the Music for the Mind Charity Concert at Cedars Hall, Wells on Saturday 15th September. Much loved actor, director and singer, Anthony Head, will be singing backed by fifty strong, Bath based, Vocal Works Gospel Choir.

Best known as the star of TV series including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Little Britain, and Merlin, Anthony Head released an album of music, Staring at the Sun, in 2014

Other guest singers include 22-year-old R&B singer Georgia Box, whose performances on YouTube have gained her a global audience. In addition, Robert SJ Lucas and Sherwood Alexander will perform songs from the This Is John musical, which began as an Edinburgh Fringe production. Former local TV news presenter, Richard Wyatt, will be master of ceremonies for the evening.

This promises to be a truly uplifting evening of music and song with every ticket supporting local mental health services. They include, weekly drop-in and one-to-one counselling services for 16-25-year olds, and mental health support for workers in farming communities and women suffering with post-natal depression and anxiety.

The concert will follow the Employers’ Symposium – for better mental health with the Mind Charity to demonstrate a new online gateway called ‘Mental Health at Work’ that will change the way that we approach workplace mental health across the UK, developed as part of Kensington Palace Royal Foundation’s work between Heads Together and the Mind Charity.

Music for the Mind is a fundraising initiative organised by volunteers and spearheaded by Bristol based business training consultant, Richard Lowe, who lost his brother due to mental ill health 20 years ago this year. The concert and symposium help raise awareness and funds for Bristol, Bath and South Somerset Mind charities who rely on the generosity of local grants and fundraising.

The Music for the Mind Charity Concert starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 15th September 2018 at Cedars Hall in Wells. Seats are priced at £30 with all profits raised going to local Mind charities.
